Pros and cons of PocketGK - Bass Guitar Amp app for iPhone and iPad

PocketGK - Bass Guitar Amp app good for

Simply the best for Bass ! Works with iRig and Ampkit Link (better) A Compressor would be fine, AND a Volume Control for the Playback Songs !! (Or Background Mode...)
First of all a word about gear: if you expect sound from the 1/8 headphone jack adapter to be as good as one going through the 30 pin digital, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration. Trust me, you can hear and feel the price difference. I’m a bass player and have an iRig and an iRiffport. Actually, no, I just gave away my irig to a friend. Now about the app. Well the GK tone is great and all and you can play along your songs. For the price I would have really liked to have background audio/ ios multitasking. I have revised my review to a 5 star now that bckground audio has been added. This basically enable you to dial in your tone, hit the home button and run a sheet music app like forScore or iRealb while still hearing yourself. It makes the app 10x more relevant and is awesome.
Its an awesome app, it would be even better if it had a metronome for practicing.
To all those who want, use and love this this app as I do, I just want to say yes, its amazing. I did hesitate to upgrade to a new iPhone thinking it wouldnt work anymore. I did it anyway and guess what, the app works perfectly. I took a chance on it because well, I cant say much about recent support from pocketlabworks as the last message I ever received back was in 2013. I sent several emails about my concern with other iOS versions. No responses. Dont care. Im not a support freak. I try things and figure it out. It works. No bugs. Maybe somewhere in the middle of the iPhone 4,5 iOS changes there were problems but I never switched until now. I have the new iPhone 6s on iOS 9.3.1. It works better on this new iPhone than it did on my old one. If anyone has been wanting to make this move, I have taken care of the guess work for you and this company too, apparently. Use it with confidence. Cheers!

Some bad moments

The app produces no sound at all with an iRig on an iPad 2 and instead complains it requires a guitar adapter. I was unable to get support from the developer because their contact web form is broken. "Finger weg", as they say here.
Im just looking for an bass amp app that delivers a big, round, clean sound. All I can get out of this app is noisy, gainy, noise gate kicking in all the time sound. I am using the Peavey AmpKit interface and a moderately expensive patch cord. (not to mention some decent Grado headphones). Why cant I just get a nice clean sound? I know its possible--using AmpliTube free with the tuner on, I get a nice clean, unaltered sound. If youre looking for a clean bass sound, maybe try that. Its free.
I was excited to use a bass specific app but the app has too many bugs to be effective. Its not useable and a waste of money at this point. They need to listen to their customers and make changes.
I was hope that will work with garageband. Isnt working :-( fix this to able sound routing.
This app is a great tool for practicing and learning new music without disturbing others. With the new update, it now has a chromatic tuner and you can multitask or put the unit to sleep and keep on playing.
Between this app and the riff port, this has totally changed the way I practice and learn new songs. Works great on both iPhone and iPad.
